Ultra Deluxe
Ultra Deluxe is a New York City based band formed by Max Narotzky in 2015. In 2024, Jon Beres and Chris Canieso joined the live band on guitar and drums respectively. Ultra Deluxe’s music is a mixture of cybergrind, dance punk, post rock, screamo, classical and experimental electronic.
Ultra Deluxe is a political band first and foremost. Narotzky is an outspoken Marxist, high school history teacher and community organizer. Class inequality, gender inequity, imperialism, genocide, mental health struggles and environmentalism are among the topics discussed in Ultra Deluxe’s music. Since the release of their first LP, all of the band’s music has been told in the form of a sci-fi space opera. This ongoing saga references historical topics such as British Imperialism, The Vietnam War, Christopher Columbus’ invasion and genocide of the Americas as well as the modern genocides of Palestine, the Congo and Sudan
Ultra Deluxe’s live shows further showcase their political message. Their merch table features free leftist literature and free harm reduction supplies. Every single show sees Narotzky make a call to arms, a monologue on current events in the world and what we can do to fix them. Ultra Deluxe is on a mission, to put in plain view capitalism’s greatest atrocities, to bury the old world of inequality deep within the earth and dance upon its grave.
Customer Service
From the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia––a city that feels both like a remote corner of the world and the center of something extraordinary––Customer Service creates an unassuming yet unforgettable take on indie-emo that blends influences from Modern Baseball to The Promise Ring, and has quickly become one of Canada's hardest working young bands. On the tail of playing north of 100 shows a year and being named one of Exclaim!'s best new artists of 2024, the band has is gearing up in preparation for their third EP titled If You're Here, You Must be Fine.
Out on October 31st via Royal Mountain Records, Customer Service's newest release attempts to explore themes of love, loss, and the unwavering friendships that keep us going despite it all. The EP was produced by longtime collaborator Owen Williams (SleepShaker, Neon Dreams), and Billy Mannino (oso oso, Macseal) mixed and mastered; the combination lending these songs a crispness and punch that perfectly complements its introspective core.
